Marketing Made Simple and Highly Effective Formula
As a service-based business, you are painfully aware that marketing is a 'job to be done'. And sadly enough, it's one that takes a massive chunk of your day, week, and even month, because, without marketing, you can't help people.
Marketing drives sales. Sales equal clients. Clients equal money.
It is a beast that has to be fed.
Your mission was to help people, but it became secondary because somebody has to be in charge of the marketing strategy, execution, and evaluation. As the owner, founder, or solopreneur, that person is YOU.
You've poured hours into crafting your services, and now you have to untangle marketing knots.
I understand how complicated marketing is for service-based entrepreneurs. When I went out on my own as a copywriter, I found that all the years I'd spent selling for AT&T didn't teach me what I needed to know about:
- lead generation
- target marketing
- sales funnels
- creating winning offers
- packaging services
- marketing research
Which was ironic because I'm in sales.
It was apparent, you don't know what you don't know. And that was me.
The only way that I could help people was to figure this out for myself.
Searching and learning from one marketing guru to another, I was overwhelmed and ready to throw in the towel. (Have you experienced that too?) Each marketing expert had their own spin on marketing that was slightly different leaving me exhausted trying to find my way. Armed with hope, persistence, and my credit card I was looking for answers.
Much like Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz I was looking for the yellow brick road to marketing success. The more I dug in the worse it got until I realized I had lost focus and I had become a marketing junkie. Not only lost focus but lots of money invested in courses, groups, and conferences.
From crazy expensive ad campaigns to multi-step funnels that branched off in endless loops, I was brain-dead. I found myself in a learning bubble without direction while losing hope for 'the right solution'.
Marketing Shouldn't Be Exhausting
My wake-up call came when I realized there is a common thread among marketing experts. Marketing doesn't have to be complicated, confusing, and expensive. When I turned off the noise surrounding me it became clear, marketing is really simple... if you want it to be.
A friend reached out to me, needing copywriting help for his business. Diving in, it was apparent that his problem wasn't just copywriting. Like hundreds of entrepreneurs I talk with they're rocking and rolling with all of their skills and talent, but they need a flywheel to generate leads, sales, and build relationships. He was desperate for someone to make marketing simple.
I created the lead generation system that turned his business around. I connected the dots for him while taking the marketing task off his plate... making marketing simple.
From that point on, I was hooked.
When Friends Ask for Help
Friends would ask me how to solve their copy, advertising, and sales problems. I realized there's a big blue ocean of people who aren't marketers that need marketing made simple.
I learned storytelling, business sales letters, websites that convert, sales and landing pages, writing books/ghostwriting, understanding human psychology, email sequences in all forms (nurturing, sales, follow up, engagement), and blogging.
Marketing for Non-Marketers Has a Formula
Create a flywheel. Yes, start with a proven formula that works and watch it produce for you.
Watch your flywheel produce cash.
Next implement the next strategy, then add it to your flywheel. Until you have all the plate spinning, while you make tweets and adjustments - as needed.
It's all about a transformation - for your client and you.
And marketing shouldn't be complicated and expensive... unless you like that sort of thing.
I like the simple things in life like straightforward answers, simple solutions, and simple marketing. The truth is once you boil it all down, it is simple. My clients see results when we use human psychology, along with unique and compelling offers.
Let's do it right and let's do it the easy way. Let's find the shortest and quickest path to 'YES'.
The truth is, some will join you now, some will join you later, and some just aren't going to come no matter what you do. So, let's focus on the low-hanging fruit and run with it. All too often, people obsess about those that are never going to be part of your tribe no matter what you do, and they just aren't that into you. And, (drumroll please...) more people will love what you offer, even some who are outliers.
